Saturdays in the Park
2pm-4pm (3pm-5pm during August & Sept) every Saturday
Grape Day Park is the place to be every Saturday in 2010. Each week of the month has a different theme:
1st Saturday = Family Fun
2nd Saturday = Art
3rd Saturday = Music
4th Saturday = Performances 
American Heritage Car Show
May 29, 2010     9am-3pm 
The American Heritage Car Show features hundreds of fabulous cars on the lawn in Grape Day Park. Show includes a pancake breakfast, vendors, DJ, raffle and museum tours. Spectators free, vehicle entry fee.
Echoes from the Past
October 3, 2010  1pm-4pm
Meet some of the "residents" of Oak Hill Memorial Park at this living history event. Arrive anytime between 1pm and 3:30pm. Ticketed event.

We have five different walking tour routes. One or two free walking tours of historic Escondido are offered every month.

9:30am parade, 9:30am-4pm festial
Escondido's most historic event includes a short downtown parade and a free festival in the park with grape stomping, entertainment stage, vendor booths, fun zone, free grapes and more! Enter the Hero Costume Contest at the stage (at approximately 12:15pm) for your chance to win $100. No entry fee, just show up dressed as your favorite hero: Wonder Woman, Spiderman, your idea...

Independence Day Celebration
July 4     4pm - 9:30pm 
Escondido celebrates in Grape Day Park with old fashioned games, museum tours and an entertainment stage, before fireworks light up the night at 9:00.
 
Western Round-Up at Melrose Ranch
May 1, 2010  11am-3pm
Don't miss your opportunity to explore the historic Melrose Ranch - where English and Hollywood "royalty" played! This fundraising event is for the whole family. There will be lots of things to do at the 115 acre ranch: enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch, roam through gorgeous gardens, check out vintage cars and buggies, go on a hay ride, see long horn cattle and goats; watch a Cowboy Action Shooter demonstration, kick up your heels and square dance, view a blacksmith demonstration, and play old fashioned games.

Christmas by Lamplight
December 3, 2010 6pm-8pm
A new script and cast of characters every year doesn't change the fact that this is a fun living history event that will get you in the holiday spirit. Arrive anytime between 6pm and 8pm for a trip back in time to see a Victorian Christmas. Ticketed event.

Postponed from June to make the event bigger and better! Celebrate America Recycles Day at this event where you'll learn to tread more lightly on on the earth. Information, earth friendly vendors, preservation organizations, art, freebies and recycling opportunities.

History Mystery Challenge
August 19, 2010
Our first HMChallenge was great fun and will be back in 2011! It's was evening riddled with food, drink and fun with friends! This is a lively team event with a scavenger hunt theme. But don't worry, you don't need to know local history to play or win. The clues each team has to decipher teaches you about Escondido's history as you explore downtown. Get ready for next year by recruiting friends to play on your team.
